Prayer Points
God is with us through His word, and we are with God through our prayers, so be encouraged and stay strong in Jesus while praying according to the Scriptures and applying them in the prayer points below.
- Again and again and without ceasing pray for the safety of the Israeli soldiers, and wisdom and courage for the leadership of Israel - especially for Prime Minister Netanyahu and the IDF leadership. May the Lord let them feel they are covered with prayers.
Pray according to 2 Kings 6:15-17, Numbers 10:34-36, Ps. 91, 1 Tim. 2:1-4, Proverbs 21:1, Ecclesiastes 9:18
- Pray for the continuation of the safety of Israel and that people will not feel left alone among the families of the nations.
Pray according to Ps. 121 and Ps. 91, Isaiah 40:1
- Pray for the people in Gaza for the Lord to intervene and save them from their ruthless leadership in order for the violence and tragedy in Gaza finally to come to an end. Pray for miracles to happen for the civilians to be protected while forced to live in the midst of the terrorists. Pray to the Lord also for the Church of Jesus Christ in Gaza for this small flock to maintain their faith in the midst of all the sufferings, pain and persecutions, and to be protected and to stay strong. Pray for God’s purposes to be fulfilled concerning Gaza.
Pray according to 1 Tim. 2:1-4, Ps.91, Matthew 6:10, Rev. 7:9-17
- Pray for the glory of the Lord to fall again afresh at the Feast of Tabernacles in October and for all the arrangements to go as need be. The nations are welcome to Jerusalem!
Pray according to Psalm 24:7-10, Zechariah 8:20-22, 14:16
- Pray for the aftermath of the operation and conflict in Gaza. That the Hamas terrorist organization would be held clearly responsible for their horrific acts. And that the leaders of the nations would keep voicing clearly and consistently that Israel has the right to defend itself against the terrorists. Pray for the media coverage that it would be righteous and truthful concerning the sorrowful tragedies that have taken place.
Pray according to Proverbs 23:23, John 8:32, 2 Cor. 13:8
Thank you for your prayers.

Dear Prayer Partners,
We are praising God for you! It is very encouraging to know that we have people all over the world praying to God in heaven together with us here in Jerusalem on behalf of Israel!
In the midst of the loss of many lives, human suffering and tragedies, we will continue to pray for righteousness to prevail and for peace and calm to return on the ground! There is God in heaven who is righteous and filled with ‘a multitude of tender mercies’, and we have turned our faces towards Him on behalf of Israel trusting He will hear us!
Up until today (when I am writing this prayer letter) 3,000 rockets have been launched from Gaza into Israel since July the 8th, striking at the civilian population throughout the country, from north to south. Though property damages have been reported, it is a miracle that the death toll has been so low among the Israeli civilians! God is watching over His people and the Iron Dome missile interceptor system has saved countless lives! He who keeps Israel, neither slumbers nor sleeps (Ps.121).
We as the ICEJ have been able to deliver bomb shelters close to the boarder of Gaza during this horrible conflict, and also have taken civilians from under the constant rocket fire to places in Israel where there is more calm, for a few days of rest. But we would like to do so much more!
The tragedy and pain in Gaza, however, unfortunately is immense due to the leadership of Hamas, who immorally and ruthlessly have used innocent people – even children! - as human shields resulting the death and loss of lives of several hundreds of civilians. The Hamas terrorists have shown no pity, nor compassion even for their very own people!
One of the commanders of the Israeli IDF told to his friend who then told me personally, how a Hamas terrorist was shooting at him with Kalashnikov rifle on his hand and – a little baby on his other hand!! This IDF solder decided not to shoot back! By the grace of God his life was saved, and he did not get killed while showing mercy and compassion for the little baby – an innocent and still fragile life made in the image of God! To hear these stories from inside Gaza breaks our hearts! And yet to some, it is Israel they blame.
We can only imagine the responsibility and pressure resting upon the shoulders of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and the leaders of IDF together with the soldiers as they are doing their best to protect their people and their country. We need to continue our prayers on their behalf. We fully trust that you will join us again with fresh petitions to God our Father, the God of Israel, not only this Wednesday but throughout the rest of the month.
In the midst of all this conflict going on in Gaza and its immediate boarders, the rest of Israel, however, keep on living their ordinary lives, continuing in their daily affairs. The shops are open, people go to work, traffic is as usual, people go to restaurants and cafes – and the tourists keep on coming with the steady flow!
We, too, as ICEJ are busy preparing for the upcoming Feast of Tabernacles in October 10 - 15 and welcome you to join us!
We expect a larger attendance than in 2013, and already have more people registered now than this time last year. This year’s Feast of Tabernacles is a real window of opportunity for us as Christians to show our love and readiness to comfort and stand with Israel faithfully. Now our voice will be heard loud and clear and it will bring wonderful comfort to the Israelis, when they see thousands of pilgrims coming to celebrate the Feast with them especially after this conflict. So please pray for the Feast – and come and celebrate with us. And bring your friend with you! Say the same as the prophet Zechariah describes people will say in the nations: “Let us continue to go . . . I myself will go also” (Zech.8:21)!
In the precious name of Jesus,
Rev. Juha Ketola
