Isaiah 62

Dear friends,

This year started here in Jerusalem with a new dedication to prayer. Even last week, hundreds of new people committed themselves to pray with our staff. I want to personally invite you to join the last two weeks in our special prayer initiative for January 2014. We need your prayer support, just as Israel is in much need of prayer.

Just a few days ago I returned from Nigeria, where we witnessed a level of prayer unknown to me before. The church of Pastor Olukoya in Lagos, Nigeria grew within 25 years from a small new congregation to more than 100,000 people attending on Sundays. The resulting movement has established more than 3,000 churches across Africa and they witness amazing miracles during their services. We discovered the secret behind their ministry after the Sunday morning service when they took us to a large area of town that is called “the City of Prayer”. There, countless people are committed to 24/7 prayer. Many live on the site. Some come for just a week or a month.

“Once a month, between 500,000 to one million people gather here for a whole night of prayer", the pastor told us. "They pray for their nation, for their churches and for the revival fire to continue."

To look at the huge covered field was quite impressive, and it must be even more so to see it packed with people. We are happy that this church is planning to join us for the Isaiah 62 Prayer initiative. It will surely be a blessing for Israel and for our ministry.

Please consider joining us for the remaining weeks in January in our intensive season of prayer to start out the new year of 2014.

If you are willing to:

  • Commit to an hour of prayer every Wednesday this month,
  • Organise a group of people in your church or city to pray with us on coming Wednesdays, or
  • Make every Wednesday this month a day of fasting

…then please commit to start the year in prayer with us. We will send you our weekly prayer updates during the month of January.

I look forward hearing from you

Yours in Christ,
